June 2017 Issue Music Awards: Down Beat Magazine

In his last semester at UMass Amherst as a graduate student in composition, Mike received recognition from Down Beat Magazine as an Outstanding Soloist in the Blues/Pop/Rock category and as an arranger in the Jazz Arrangement category for his vocal arrangement of “Scarborough Fair”. UMass’ Jazz Ensemble I also won the Blues/Pop/Rock ensemble category.
